A rare Sheaffer Snorkel Masterpiece in 14k gold with alternating smooth and lined design. This is an English pen with full London assay hallmarks for the Sheaffer Pen Company, 14k gold and the date letter for 1958. The clip is also marked 14k. We have full serviced the filling system which is working well. This is fitted with a broad 14k bicolour gold Australian nib as was normal for English Sheaffers.
Condition wise, there are 3-4 significant small dings to the cap, both ends have the normal small dings and there is a small presentation inscription on the barrel cartouche - please see the larger scale photos for more information
Overall, the pen weighs 28 grams and has a good weighty feel to it. The broad nib is superbly smooth. So while its overall condition and inscription suggests that this pen has been well used, it would still make an interesting and enjoyable daily writer - all in 14k gold! Additionally, solid gold Snorkels are becoming very hard to find
Condition C/1b - (Ref 12434)
