From the early 1930s, this is an American Sheaffer 5-30 fountain pen and pencil combination in pearl and black with gold trim. It has its original 5-30 imprinted nib which is a fine grade with no flex. We have serviced the pen and fitted a new ink sac. This is a lever filling pen. Measuring 15.3cms capped, this dates from around 1932 and has the earlier ball ended clip
Condition wise, there is some ambering particularly to the barrel but this is not as pronounced as the photos suggest. There is no plating wear, even to the ball of the clip; no cracks or engravings and the barrel imprint is clear and readable
The pencil takes 1.18mm leads - the current Yard-o-Led standard
Condition B/1f (Ref 12436)
