This is an English Parker 51 Mk1 Classic in teal blue with a brushed steel cap. It's fitted with an italic 14k gold nib which has excellent line width variation - horizontal strokes are around 0.4mm (normal width of a fine nib) while vertical strokes are around 0.9mm (broad+). These 51 italic nibs are now becoming quite hard to find
This has only been lightly used, and is in excellent overall shape and everything, including the cap fit, is quite crisp. The italic nib is smooth with good ink flow
In terms of dating, the cap has the simple 'Parker' imprint and the earlier cage clutch. With the barrel imprints, this dates to the mid 1950s which is confirmed by the barrel's date code of '5' for 1955

We have fully serviced this pen which includes disassembling the pen, ultrasonically cleaning all the parts and fitting a new pliglass ink sac. We then reassemble the pen, check ink flow and the smoothness of the nib. We also check and adjust the tightness and positioning of the clip.
This is a Parker 51 with the aerometric filling system. The pen fills from an ink bottle and does not take cartridges
